PVC Dock Seal and Rubber Bumper – Brisbane

A cost effective dock seal and bumper that goes easy on trucks, prevents entrance of insects, and keeps cool air in? Done.

Refrigerated trucks were reversing up against a concrete loading dock to unload meat products. There was nothing on the concrete dock face to protect the back of the trucks from damage and there was no seal to prevent cool air loss through the gap between the truck and the building. This gap also allowed entry of insects and foreign objects to the building, creating food safety issues. A cost effective solution was required as the dock was not high use.

The application evaluation established that a full length rubber extrusion was required mounted at the same height as the back of the truck to protect the back of the truck and to seal the gap. A custom made insulated panel surround was manufactured and installed away from the edge of the opening to prevent damage. Black food grade PVC sections were mounted overlapping each other to provide a flexible seal which would adjust to suit different trucks. A free area in the middle of the flexible plastic curtain seal was left to prevent health and safety issues.
